Have you read A Man Called Ove?
I started it yesterday and finished it today. That’s how good it was.
Thankfully, I had a rather mindless task all day at work today. Something that is boring but just has to get done, so it’s fine. The bonus with this type of activity is that I can listen to a book while I work. So I was able to listen to most of the book today.
I chuckled. I laughed out loud often. Sometimes loud enough that I startled my mostly deaf dog.
I nodded in agreement with the main characters observations.
I sniffled and I cried. A lot. By the end of the day when I was finishing up my workday and the book, I bawled. BAWLED.
This book–the story of a taciturn and curmudgeonly (and maybe OCD-suffering) man who lost his wife–is beautiful. Funny, poignant, sweet, hilarious, heart-warming, precious. I just truly loved it!
I think this is the kind of book I’ll be thinking about for a while. I highly recommend it if you haven’t read it!
I love the feeling you get when you finish a great book, don’t you?
It’s a great feeling to finish a good book, I agree.

I listened to it, too, and loved it! I’ve wanted to watch the movie, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I have his book, Anxious People, on my nightstand in my to-read pile!

I will have to listen to that book. Can you share who the narrator was? I know that sometimes, with audiobooks, different narrators read the stories. It makes all the difference if the narrator does a fabulous job! I’m always on the lookout for a good book. I just started reading The Goldfinch…I’m only 50 pages in and absorbed already! Thanks!

I love that book. It is hilarious. My husband also loved it. I think it is a book that the audio enhances.
