We are 2 1/2 hours into our 4 1/2 drive to the beach.
I miss the days of finding road trips exciting. Packing all of your activities and crawling into your space in a packed out vehicle. Snacks, drinks, and books galore.
Nowadays, I’m just sore and cranky. My lower back hurts, my hips hurt, my butt is numb, my legs are tingly. Oh, and now that I think about it, I need a bathroom break.
Are we there yet?
>Are we there yet?<
Well….maybe? 🙂
I miss those days as well. Loading up the car and just going to see what you can see.
We are driving (hopefully) to the East Coast this summer with our tent, our cooler, and our books to find cool stuff. While I'm sure cranky will be one thing we feel, free will be another.
I hope you've felt free with this slice, Kristy! 😉

I love your descriptions and enjoyed reading your piece, even though I am one of those people who still LIKE road trips. I hope you have a wonderful time at the beach! 🙂 ~JudyK

Cute…love that classic road trip line!!! I do agree, that we tend to pack more and more of the comforts of home and travel more crowded…no matter how big or small the vehicle is. Safe travels…fun times!

Ha! I love the IDEA of road trips, but in reality, they now make me cranky. I arrive and feel like i’m 100 years old–all creaky and achy. I hope you arrive safely and have a chance to move a bit to stretch out!
