It’s heeeeeere

Well, it’s here.

Alabama had its first confirmed case of Coronavirus yesterday and today we’re in a state of emergency. The governor closed all schools starting Wednesday through at least April 3rd.

As of right now, we have no idea what’s going on. We don’t know if we have to assign work, or if we will be able to get into the school for anything. We know nothing.

It all has me feeling…weird. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s freaky. It’s interesting. It’s scary. It’s sort of fascinating. It’s weird.

I feel like I don’t know what to do with myself. So, I’m going to go make our grocery list for weekly Saturday grocery run. It’ll probably be a little longer this week…

Stay healthy, everyone!

  1. I hope you find out more answers and that you are able to plan for online school (if you are doing that). If not, stay safe and healthy and get those projects done that you have on your list. Read a good book or three.

  2. The closures were sudden still district by district in Massachusetts so the students were gone before it seemed imminent. We went to the grocery that night. Hard to stay calm.

  3. “We know nothing.” That’s how we felt at 11:30 when our governor made the call. What were we supposed to send home with our kids? Anything? Nothing? What? It was chaos for a little bit while we teachers scrambled to put stuff together.
It seems like today was the tipping point for a lot of us. Good luck getting through the grocery store tomorrow.

  4. Wisconsin’s governor mandated school closings start next Wednesday. Our district sent out a message at 5:30 PM stating we’d be closed until April 6th. I too am uncertain and worried. It truly is weird.
