The Struggle to Workout (#sol17 15/31)

This week I might finally work out twice.  Ha!

I have been so laaaazy lately.  I just can’t seem to get motivated.  I hate to blame everything on the dog, but he is a big part of the problem.  I can’t go to kickboxing unless my husband’s schedule allows him to pick up the dog. Sometimes when I get home, I can’t get on the treadmill until husband gets home, because who knows what Georgie will be doing (eating the windowsill, for example).

I’m trying really hard to get back to it.  I want my almost abs back from when I was kickboxing twice a week.  I want to feel and see muscles in my arms and legs.

Why is it so hard to get back into a workout routine when you take a break? It doesn’t seem fair.  why does it take so long to build up muscle and lose fat, but almost no time to go the other way?  It kinda sucks, ya know?

So anyway, today I forced myself on to the treadmill soon after I got home.  I did day two of week two of the Couch to 5k app (while watching A Royal Night Out on Netflix).  It’s not much, but it’s better than nothing.  Tomorrow I’m forcing myself to kickboxing.

Now to keep it up.  That’s the tough part.

  1. You captured that feeling so well. I’ve been doing yoga pretty much daily since Jan 1 but I have been avoiding cardio. I would also like to be able to see some of those muscles I’m building through yoga! I need more balance in my workout life, but then balance is kind of my constant life work!

  2. I hate that feeling! I always get it when I go on vacation for four days and when I return I try to go to the gym that night. The cardio almost always kills me. I feel like I haven’t been to a gym in months thanks to missing four days. I hope you can go to kickboxing tomorrow.

  3. I’ve (mostly) got my workouts down because I take a bootcamp/boxing class – like you said you like – but I can’t get back on the healthy eating train! I miss my “almost abs” too! (What a great phrase!)

Good luck staying motivated, and hey – you did it today!! 🙂

  4. I’m in the same rut! It’s the worst. They say the hardest part is getting there, but sometimes it think it’s the cardio portion where I want to puke 🙂 Keep at it. Twice a week is doable. Great free thinking slice!
