I was inspired by Darin Johnson’s post yesterday about music. So I hit “play” and “shuffle” on my music playlist and here is what came up:
- “Like My Daddy Did” by Vince Gill (oh that voice–beautiful!)
- “Standchen” by Franz Schubert (Relax and read)
- “El Salam” by Hakim (Bellydancing music)
- “Payphone” by Maroon 5 (Fun to workout to)
- “I will be There” by Odessa (OMG I love this song!)
- “Wishing You were Somehow Here Again” from Phantom of the Opera (one of my favorite musicals. LOVE)
- “Da Slockit Light” by Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas (their fiddle / bass combos are amazing. I love their Fire & Grace album so freaking much)
- “Side to Side” by Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj (what can I say? It’s catchy)
- “Flying Horses” by Dispatch (This one takes me back to college and chillaxin’)
This was fun! (Sidenote: one of my dogs, Kosmo, is terrified of “Don’t Let me Down” by The Chainsmokers. He will either leave the room with his tail between his legs or he’ll come and try to jump in my lap. It’s so weird.)
Hopefully you found some inspiration here. What’s on your playlist?
Well, first of all, what a marvelous idea! Second, I absolutely LOVE “Standchen”! Well done, you! My classical music, choir director heart is full! 🙂

I love how broad your music tastes are. I think I have inspiration for tomorrow. From your list I fell in love with track Da Slockit Light. I’ll definitely look into more of their music. Thank you for sharing your music suggestions.

That’s awesome! Fiddle music is some of my absolute favorite stuff! Aly Bain is another good fiddler to check out. 🙂

If you love fiddle music might I suggest Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Meyer, and Mark O’Connor’s album Appalachia Waltz. Or even the Goat Rodeo Sessions.:)

I think they’ve come on my pandora station because that sounds so familiar! I will be checking that out immediately.

Oh my gosh! I’m so glad I found this post. I think my 7th graders would love to do this, and I’m totally reserving a slice day for this! Thank you for sharing. I appreciate the interesting mix of music that shuffle provides!
