Hello there. (I won’t lie, I was going to write the first few “stanzas” of this post in the format of Adele’s hit song, but decided that might be a little much for my first day here…)
I’m Kristy. I teach high school English, ride horses, travel with my husband, obsess about my dogs, overpost on Instagram, read lots of books (when I can), bake mostly delicious treats, and maybe say too much.
So here I am, trying blog number four (I think–I’ve lost count). In the past, I’ve focused on writing about school–lessons, reflections, ideas, etc.– and I would feel guilty or awkward if I wrote about anything else. But, while teaching is, of course, a big part of my life, there’s more to me than that. Turns out, I’d like to share that other stuff with the world (or, at least, the two people who might read this).
I want to share my thoughts on the world. I want to tell you about my goals that have nothing to do with my classroom. I want to explore clean eating, bread baking, gardening, using essential oils, learning to code and whatever else happens along my path. I want to share pictures of my horse and riding buddies. I want to review books, trails, products. I want to share the stories and ideas that float around unshared in my head.
Maybe the fourth time’s a charm? Here’s hoping.
Today I turn 33 and even though we are 31 days into the new year, tomorrow is the first day of MY new year. And I am vowing to myself and anyone who reads this to make it count. I have lots of changes up my sleeve this year, and I’m excited to see what’s coming. I hope you’ll join me to see how it all plays out.
Be back soon,
